Tomato Season!

We picked our first tomato this morning! It just popped off in my hands!

Our four baby tomato plants have taken over our fire escape. Wilson think's he's in the jungle every time he goes out there. Ok, maybe he doesn't think that, but I like to pretend.

I freaked out when I looked at one of our peppers. It was discolored! There were dark splotches all over it. I've only had a few peppers during my lifetime - green bell, red, yellow, jalapeño, and some stubby red ones - so I knew there was a possibility that this was going to look different. Google came to my rescue. This particular pepper, the Islander, is supposed to be purple when ripe. We're right on target then!

Now if only this wet weather would stop so these plants could drain.......
